Hey, Mr. Postman!

No sooner had I committed to the 28 Day Challenge, than a haul of toy/comic goodness came knocking at the door. As I said in my earlier post, these were purchased in January, they just happened to show up at my place on the first day of my month-long break from toy hunting. Hardly seems fair, huh? :D  Don't worry, more will be coming...
*Marvel Select "Kree Soldier" Captain Marvel Variant by Diamond Select Toys! I already have the other version of this, the standard red & blue Captain Marvel, but I couldn't pass this guy up for ten bucks. Again, the Marvel Selects don't have the articulation that a Marvel Legends might have, but they ARE beautiful. They're a little bigger as well, closer to 7" than 6". I already cracked this puppy open- he's really cool!

*Marvel Legends Skrull Soldier/Kree Soldier two-pack by Hasbro. I stumbled onto this FUN 2-pk by accident, drastically marked down in price- likely due to the damaged packaging. That didn't bother me as I opened them already! The Kree soldier has a variant, interchangeable head and a small pistol that fits into a holster on a removable belt. The Skrull soldier has a set of interchangeable arms, one manifesting his "Super-Skrull" powers, here a mix of The Thing's huge, craggy arms and The Human Torch's flames. I've already been playing around with these guys- they'll make some fun pictures!

*Infinite Crisis (DC, 2005), and Identity Crisis (DC, 2004-2005). These will help me understand Final Crisis (2008-2009), which I just read. Two epic books I totally missed that include a who's-who roster of DC characters. I have a lot of good reading for this month!

*Batman: The Cult (DC, 2005), books 1, 2, & 3. I had book four in high school and WAS NEVER ABLE TO GET THE OTHERS. Here 20 years later, justice WILL be mine! Love the art by Berni Wrightson on these...

OH! AND YESTERDAY ... The Life & Death of Captain Marvel (Marvel, 2002) came in! It's a compilation of Captain Marvel adventures from 1972 all the way to his death in 1982, reprinted from Marvel's first graphic novel, The Death of Captain Marvel.

We are somewhat snowed in here in the Midwest, but with lots of reading & photography to do, I'm enjoying a nice, lazy day off  :)  See ya tomorrow!

  1. Ha ha ha, that is awesome planning there! Looks like Bubbashelby should have taken a page from your book. I don't think he is doing as well.

  2. I wish I could say I planned that, still I knew more toys/comics would be coming. That won't be all to tide me over either... :D

  4. Hey, nice blog. Hope you enjoy Identity Crisis at least as I did. Batman The Cult was one of my very favourites when I was in high skull too. I like Superskrull a lot. I have the one released in the Fantastic Four line. Regards.
