Transformers Generations Silverbolt

Transformers obsession is well underway here at the Super-DuperToyBox, leading me to this Generations Combiner Wars Series Silverbolt. This Voyager Class figure can be combined with four other Deluxe Class Aerialbots to assemble Superion. While I'm not necessarily interested in the aforementioned combiner option, I admire Silverbolt's blocky G1 looks, great articulation, and color scheme. Check out the video:

Hot Wheels Avengers AOU Cars

Sometimes blogs collide- such is the case with my Super-DuperToyBox and Super Fun Hot Wheels blogs on the subject of the recent Hot Wheels Avengers Age of Ulton cars, posted on the latter for your enjoyment. I used some of my Avengers Nick Fury, Capt. America, and Black Widow figures for the video...

Transformers Leader Class Jetfire

Longtime Transformers fans and Hasbro critics decry today's Leader Class figures for hollowed out limbs, overall lightweight construction, and absence of light/sound effects, but as a new enthusiast to the franchise, this giant robot scratches my itch for the like. Measuring in at a solid 8.5" from head to toe, Jetfire appears even bigger than he is due to the wings and extra jets on his back. One could quibble about the vac-metal red accessories and excessive kibble in back, but he stands solidly, and in very poseable. I love the removable mask, and the G1 face underneath even more, which better reveals his luminous lightpiping- wow! Check out the video:

Transformers Generations Arcee & Chromia

I loved the Transformers Generations Arcee & Chromia at first sight! These fabulous fembots make an instant pair, while remaining different enough in build to be enjoyed individually. Arcee got more of an arsenal than Chromia, but can't fully choke up on the grip of her weapons due to the ridge inside her cupped hands, Still she hold them securely, and has better articulation than Chromia, who has less lateral range and bulkier limbs. Both have a lot of backpack, but stand just fine and look killer! Check out the video:

Funtastic Heroes Police Playset

There's nothing particularly special about this 23 pc. Funtastic Heroes Police Playset, purchased a couple weeks ago at Hobby Lobby for $2.50 (always bring a coupon). I picked it up mainly for background props for my other toys, but am fond of the dark blue figures with their goofy faces. Growing up in the '70s, I'm a fan of Tim Mee plastic figures, plastic army men in the like, waging war in the backyard of my youth like many of my vintage. I'm on the currently lookout for some plastic army men that will live up to my expectations as well, the criteria of which is hard to explain... the molds just aren't quite what they used to be...
