Turtles of Grayskull Skele-Shredder

I just bought this Turtles of Grayskull Skele-Shredder of Mattel Creations and felt like $45.00 was a little steep initially, but what a package! While the box is made of cardboard, it's plenty sturdy enough to display confidently in your collection, and it looks fantastic!

The top lifts to expose Skele-Shredder, but I was able to unhook the tabs inside to completely remove it for better lighting inside. It's elaborately illustrated inside and out! The throne has foot pegs to hold your figure in place, and pegs to stow the extra heads that come with the figure...

Like the Masters of the Universe Origins, Turtles of Grayskull has its own line of mini comics:

This deluxe figure comes with four different heads- to my surprise the gold helmeted head on the throne also fits the figure. I have yet to open any of my mainline Turtles of Grayskull figures, so I don't know if the gold head or any of the others have been used.

The far-out Skeletor head included inspired me to take advantage of the Origins interchangeable parts feature and make my own, alternative version of the Evil Lord of Destruction ...!

Below, Skele-Shredder with my Skel-Knight
possibly my favorite from the Battle for Eternia set...

Below, Skele-Shredder with some of my other Turtles of Grayskull: Splinter-Skull, 2-Bopsteady, Mouse-Jaw, Sla'ker and Krang! He makes a great addition to my collection and is a fun figure on his own. You'll see more Turtles of Grayskull here at the Super-DuperToyBox in future posts!

And finally, Skele-Shredder atop my flocked Panthor with some favorite Skeletors of mine:

Funko POP Turtles of Grayskull Skeletor & Shredder

I rarely buy a Funko POP vinyl and had eyed Skeletor and Shredder before, but when I saw them on sale for $4.64 each, I had to scoop them up. I have most of the first three waves or so of the Mattel Turtles of Grayskull figures boxed up in storage, including these versions of Skeletor and Shredder. I need to bust them out at some point. I was glad these POPS were straight-up vinyl as opposed to bobble heads- their extraordinary helmets and metallic silver parts make them quite the pair!

TMNT Mutant Mayhem Astronaut Raph

I've passed on this figure more than once, but was having so much fun with TMNT, that I finally picked up the Mutant Mayhem Series Astronaut Raph. Not sure this space faring scenario occurred in Mutant Mayhem, but there was an astronaut themed turtle figure in the original line, which ballooned in scope due to its ridiculously over-the-top variant turtle figures.

I was mildly disappointed the chest circuitry was a sticker as opposed to a tampograph, but I do like that the dome can be removed to articulate the neck- very cool. This figure has good articulation, knees and elbows included, but I wish we had some stowage options for the weapons.

There's no real gap between Astronaut Raph's digits, so he can't grip his sai the same way my Mutant Mayhem Raphael can, Again, some sheaths for these would be nice, but Playmates did paint the handles.

Below, Astronaut Raph with my TMNT Mutations Bishop Mech...

My Loyal Subjects BST AXN Android Body Krang would be a perfect figure for Astronaut Raph to battle- he might use his laser blaster arms to attack our plucky hero! I've had more fun all the time pitting this extra-large figure against others in my collection- so absurd, so fun!

I had fun playing with Astronaut Raph- he's just a fun variant turtle to have among the ranks here in the Super-DuperToyBox. On the lookout for the Playmates Donatello as Dr. Spock now but may missed prime peg time awhile back on that, being late for the dance as it were.

Turtles of Grayskull Megator Krang

This Megator Krang was preordered from Walmart last April that arrived in September- an exclusive I felt lucky to get with that retailer's spotty track record with such items. That said, I've mostly had good luck in that department. This is a beefy MOTU Origins figure made larger yet with its Krang cockpit added to the midsection. He came with extra gripping hands, but who wouldn't display this figure with the weapon accessories ported into the wrists? The matte, rust-brown color of the morning star flail chain was a thoughtful touch, so great...

Suddenly I have two Krangs in my collection, my other the Loyal Subjects BST AXN Krang...

Below, Megator Krang battles Turtles of Grayskull Splinter-Skull ...

Also a Turtles of Grayskull figure, 2-Bopsteady has the same chained flail weapon as Megator Krang...

And finally, Megator Krang and 2-Bopsteady with Sla'ker and Mouse-Jaw (below). And I have many more Turtles of Grayskull figures I've been collecting since they started dropping last year. Though I was a big fan of the Masters of the Universe Origins line, I was surprised how much I got into Turtles of Grayskull. A MOTU Origins mashup with Thundercats is purportedly in the works, and I'm looking forward to seeing that!

TMNT Mutant Mayhem Turtle Tots

I found these Turtle Tots from an eBay seller at a decent price, shipped free, so I scooped them up quickly. I've really enjoyed the new Playmates TMNT figures in my last couple of posts and was surprised by how much I love the clips I've seen of the movie and subsequent TV show. These turtle tots actually have some articulation in the neck and shoulders, as well as at the waist, which breaks up the shell, but it's there. They include corresponding training weapon accessories: sai for Raph, nunchaku for Mikey, katana for Leo, staff for Donnie,...

Because my Mutant Mayhem Turtles also came with baby turtles, I now have three different stages in their development- and the colors all correspond! So much fun!

And finally, Sensei Splinter training with his young students to become
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ...!

TMNT Mutations Mix 'N Match Splinter, Metalhead, Mechazoid, and Bishop Mech

I recently stumbled upon a Splinter from the Playmates TMNT Mutant Mayhem line, this one the Mutations Mix and Match subseries at Target, and soon thereafter found Metalhead, Mechazoid, and the Bishop Mech at Walmart for two bucks less on sale for $7.97 each. I have no experience/knowledge of the mechs in this lineup, but they looked really fun, and I wanted a Splinter for my Mutant Mayhem Turtles.

These figures came with a pile of mix 'n match parts that turned out to be fun to play with! I was only sorry to realize the parts were not interchangeable with my other Mutant Mahem figures, and they can sometimes be a challenge to stand. Regardless, I'm considering picking up the mix 'n match Turtles, even if just for another slightly variant set.

Metalhead has a pizza party with Party Wallop in the arcade!

Of course, I had to photograph Metalhead with my MOTU Turtles of Grayskull Metal-Boto!

And finally, Splinter with my MOTU Turtles of Grayskull Splinter-Skull ....!

I had a lot of fun with these mix 'n match figures and could see myself getting more- Playmates offers a lot of play value for the price of these, from south of eight to ten bucks. Any kid is going to have fun with these, this kid certainly did! Below Splinter with a turtle figure I got in a Kinder Joy treat awhile back- and a hint about my next post! Stay tuned, Turtles!
