Marvel Legends Disney+ Infinity Ultron Wave

I've had this Marvel Legends Disney+ Wave on ice since the end of last year, having preordered it right after solicitation in 2022. Moon Knight and Mr. Knight figures were certainly of interest to me, Moon Knight being features in issue #22 of Peter Parker: Spectacular Spider-Man, one of the first comics I remember from childhood. I later read several issues of the Marvel NOW! Moon Knight, which influenced the more deeply explored multiple personalities aspects of the Disney+ character. I enjoyed the supernatural aspects of the Disney+ show but longed for some street-level crime fighting found in the earlier Moon Knight interpretations. These are two beautifully sculpted figures...

I may like the Hawkeye and Kate Bishop figures more than I did the Disney+ show, but I like Jeremy Renner's portrayal of the character and was entertained. I should read the Kate Bishop Hawkeye books Marvel has released; they receive high praise.

Hawkeye with some other versions of MCU Clint Barton, Avengers Endgame Hawkeye and Ronin. I stupidly sold off my original Avengers Hawkeye years ago, and regret it...

I'm' not sure how much I remember of Sharon Carter's role in Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but this is a solid figure- her knife accessory is lazy, unpainted, and flimsy, but the nightstick has some detail. The layered hoodie under trench coat outfit was well executed.

Below, Sharon Carter with the other plain clothed MCU figure in my collection, Jessica Jones...

I am a big fan of She-Hulk, due in large part to John Byrne's Sensational She-Hulk and liked many aspects of the recent Disney+ show based on that interpretation. This may have been the most anticipated figure of the wave for me, and she is pretty fantastic. A more useful set of alternate hands and an extra/angry head would have been nice, but She-Hulk is a beautiful figure.

I still haven't seen the Disney+ Ms. Marvel Show, so my enthusiasm for getting this figure was probably less than the others, but she did turn out good, and really looks like a kid...

...and Disney+ Ms. Marvel with my Marvel Legends comic-based Ms. Marvel...

I thought this Infinity Ultron BAF would be larger, but the main disappointment was his bent, rubbery lance- I hate Hasbro's use of soft rubber for weapons/accessories- these are adult collectibles for crying out loud! Otherwise, I really like the sculpt/paint deco on this deluxe Ultron.

Below, Infinity Ultron with my other Marvel What If ...? BAF, The Watcher ...!

Below, Infinity Ultron BAF with my Iron Man 3 Ultron, and Marvel Legends Classic Ultron from 2021. Infinity Ultron sure has nice deco, but that Classic Ultron is the Ultron from my Bronze-Age childhood ...!

This was a spectacular wave of MCU Marvel Legends, the two characters I cared a little less about still commendable offerings. I still haven't seen Ms. Marvel, but the rest of the shows represented in this wave were entertaining overall. I don't often plunk down for an entire wave of Marvel Legends, especially after recent price hikes, but this group was exceptional.

Marvel Legends She Hulk and Tigra

I was surprised to see the Marvel Legends Retro carded Tigra on GameStop's website, but there and then decided to finally commit to the new She-Hulk and enjoy free shipping. These ladies are unique and colorful action figures that I felt might make a great pairing...

Tigra was initially introduced as The Cat, but revamped to the more familiar super-powered, part animal character we know now in Giant-Sized Creatures #1,1974. I had little or no experience with the character until backtracking that issue, also featuring Werewolf by Night, on Marvel Unlimited. Below, Tigra with Shuri from a 2018 Black Panther 2-pk with Klaw...

I'm unsure if this is a new buck for Tigra's tiny frame, but it has small areas of fur texture sculpted on the shoulders, forearms, and above the knee. This is unfortunately concealed by the painted stripes, but interesting to think about who may fit that body, perhaps Wolfsbane/Rahne Sinclair of the X-Men? That character probably would not fit the intricate sculpt details of Tigra's bikini, though. Amazing detail throughout this surprising little figure. Also, her tail seems to be meant to swivel, if begrudgingly on my sample.

Tigra has pinless limbs, and a decent level of articulation, the elbows of particular note. Not a lot abdominal crunch, but I was able to get her to do some things. Below, Tigra spars with Thundra...

While we have Thundra out, we might as well compare her with She-Hulk, as they are both larger female buck. Thundra could have benefitted from a more substantial base body, but I have held onto her...

I was reluctant to pick up this repaint of She-Hulk as she is the same figure it seems we just bought- it has been 20 months, but that happens more as Hasbro pushes out Marvel Legends figures with ever-increasing frequency. This gray version of Shulkie was part of the Super Skrull Wave that included the classic Doctor Doom that have also repainted in more comic-inspired colors.

It's great to finally have a green She-Hulk that's easy to acquire, and has an appropriately muscle build befitting of the character. While the neutral head sculpt is fine, I would have preferred more of a John Byrne Sensational She-Hulk hair style, like we got in the recent X-Factor Polaris figure. I predict we will get another She-Hulk in the Marvel Legends. I personally loved her FF outfit (we need a box set of that team with Miss Thing), but a more traditional Fantastic Four look or some variant of her purple and white outfit, are certainly on the table. Below, She-Hulk with my Marvel 80th Anniversary Classic Hulk...

She-Hulk may be one of the Marvel characters that actually could take on Mr. Hyde ...!

And finally, Tigra and She-Hulk with some of the other heroic females in my Marvel Legends collection: Angela, Captain Marvel, Ironheart, Black Widow, and Dazzler...

These are two nice figures I'd recommend to any action figure collector- I paid a couple bucks less retail for Tigra on GameStop's website than BBTS is asking, and got free shipping for buying She-Hulk for $19.99. The recent price increases on Legends are annoying, but I will say again that they are nearer to import quality than in the past. Hasbro sees people paying fifty to one hundred dollars for single figures by companies like Storm Collectibles, Mezco, Medicom, and Mafex, and they want some of that action.

Marvel Legends Doctor Doom & She-Hulk

I picked up She-Hulk and Doctor Doom from the new Marvel Legends Fantastic Four/Super Skrull BAF Wave when I bout the entire Hobgoblin Wave featured in my last post. I didn't want to shell out for the updated Fantastic Four as I already have the Walgreens FF, but I couldn't pass on these two. We received a classic Doctor Doom from ToyBiz in the 2nd Series of Marvel Legends back in 2002, in the 2007 Walmart Exclusive Ronan Wave, and more recently in the 2012 Epic Heroes Series 3. I never picked up the Walgreens Infamous Iron Man Doctor Doom released last year, but had little incentive as I knew this Classic Doom was on the way.

This wasn't the version of Jen Walters I'd prefer, but rather the post Civil War II Hulk (or She-Hulk) that now turns into a wild, uncontrollable grey Hulk, a result of her trauma from fighting Thanos. I'm unfamiliar with the latest regarding Jen in the comics, but this sounds more Savage She-Hulk than Sensational. But with all the new, very character-specific tooling for this figure, I feel we will get a more conventional green version, perhaps in a retro wave, that may feature a new head sculpt. Still, this is a fantastic figure with some exacting attention to detail in the sculpt and paint.

Below, She-Hulk with another stunning female marvel Legends female in my collection, Angela, the classic Hulk from my 80th Anniversary Hulk/Wolverine 2-Pack, and Thundra from the 2015 Hulkbuster Wave...

Doom seems like next-level Marvel Legends, with near import-like quality, a triumph of the Marvel Legends line and action figures in general. The attention to detail in the sculpt- the rivets, painted armor clasps, the elaborate gold belt buckle, the subtle fabric texture of the cape and tunic, the chain mail texture under the armor... it's fantastic. The armor looks so good! Sure, the pistol is underwhelming in size and rubbery, but the rest of the accessories, including classic and modern portraits are perfect.

Hasbro put Doom's thrusters beneath his cape, which do have small holes at the openings. We didn't any jet fire accessories, but you know some customizer is going to make that. The peg on my onside of his cape doesn't really stay in the hole on Doom's back, but it's of little consequence for my purposes.

Doom's tunic and cape encumber his poseability to a degree, but he has great articulation. I'm glad they didn't break up the torso with an ab-crunch joint- the ball joint at the waist gives adequate tilt all around for this character- perfectly serviceable, and plenty good to battle the ever-lovin', blue-eyed Thing!

And finally, Doom with my Walgreens Exclusive Fantastic Four. While it's tempting to pick up the updated FF from Doom's wave and complete the Super Skrull BAF, I prefer this Walgreens FF. Sure, we get a transforming Human Torch w/Johnny Storm head, but I liked the more traditional uniforms of the Walgreens FF, and Thing's paint deco is better. Maybe if they go on clearance.
