Brave & The Bold Happy Meal Premiums

I have many of the Batman: The Brave and The Bold line, styled after the animated show that aired on Cartoon Network from 2008 -2011. It had been awhile since I posted on my collection of these, but I had started picking up loose figures recently, including some of these McDonald's Happy Meal premiums. There were smaller figures without articulation offered, and larger figures with action features released in another, separate wave. I've posted on two other Brave and The Bold fast-food premiums in the past, Blue Beetle and Plastic Man- both of which were super fun!

I loved how the show stylized Green Arrow in his Silver-Age outfit, with red boots and gloves- in April I posted on the 9" Green Arrow that Hasbro produced in 1999 wearing that outfit, circle back and check him out:

Batman: Brave & The Bold Cyber-Tank

Perhaps even harder to find than the Cosmic Crawler in my last post, was this used Brave & The Bold Cyber-Tank- in fact my only option was the same eBay seller! Sure, I could have paid sixty dollars for a new one in the box which came with two figures, but a third of that price was more my speed. The original package included a Blue Beetle figure and a black & red Batman variant which I wouldn't have minded having, but it was this vehicle that I really wanted.

I was more interested in his Bat-Bot mode as you can see, and for obvious reasons. The arms and legs attach to the chassis via the same type of accessory hex-slots see on all the B&TB action figures, and can ratchet into basic, limited positioning to aim and pose. While his knees are articulated between the two tank treads, he likes standing firmly on both fit, titled back slightly if in the firing position.

The Gatling gun fires it's six missiles by twisting the knob at the shoulder with an ample, but safe projection- the same as my larger B&TB Proto Bat-Bot. the other arm wields a claw engaged by manually pinching the spring loaded ears from behind. It's not as impressive at the projectile accessory, and has a weak grip, but adds variety to the figure.

I love the scowling eyes on this little guy, and his red highlights- with just the right shapes and lines in his design, Mattel made him look adorably menacing  :D   In the TV show, Proto Bat-Bot has to help stop Batman's own Bat-Bot army from destroying Gotham when their circuits go awry.

The hood/head pops open to reveal a cockpit to place your Caped Crusader! I put my B&TB Stealth Blast Rocket Batman inside to take place of the other black & red Batman that originally came with this set...

And yes, there's the tank mode as well. There are small wheels underneath the tracks that roll well enough on smooth services. It's not an all-terrain vehicle or anything but it rolls. This assembly seems secondary to me with the ability to display a robot, but it's fun. I love the Gatling gun on this toy- it works great!

You can also turn turn this thing into a walking claw of sorts for chasing down Batman's enemies, like the Stealth Strike Riddler...!  I was pleased the walker would hold a figure up without tipping. I wish the claw had a swivel joint to hold the figure in an upright position like this while in bot mode, but that's a small gripe.

While this Cyber-Tank bot cannot compare with what may be favorite toy ever, the B&TB Proto Bat-Bot, he makes a nice companion piece that I knew would provide a fun photo session! Here are a few I took while playing with my Bat-Bots...   :D

*See my video of the Proto Bat-Bot in action! As I've said more than twice, he may be my favorite toy of all time. As you might imagine, I have many a favorite toy, but the Proto Bat-Bot trumps all others. I actually hugged him with joy after getting familiar with all his functions- in essence, I loved him as a child would. He's not just a toy, he's like my sidekick... like the Guardian of the Super-DuperToyBox!  Getting him out to photograph with his new companion was EXTRA fun   :D

Proto Bat-Bot!

The fun I experienced getting the Batmobile from the Brave & The Bold Series by Mattel was only trumped by scoring this bitchin' Proto Bat-Bot!  I was actually surprised at big this thing is- towering over the 4 3/4" action figures of this line, this colossal toy is 12" tall, 8" wide, and just a hair under 3 lbs. He's a whopper!

Proto Bat-Bot's hidden chest cannon is revealed when you twist his head clockwise, lighting up his eyes when he announces "Mega Blaster Activated" and "Great Job, Partner" in a breathy Adam West delivery (who in fact voiced the character on the TV show).

The projectiles are rapidly ejected by manually depressing the button at the rear of the cannon. The lever atop Proto Bat-Bot's left shoulder and red button on his right shoulder blade allow the chest bay doors to lock open and the cannon inside to spin, causing a great deal of commotion and enjoyment. I was delighted, to say the least :D

I had underestimated Proto Bat-Bot's level of articulation slightly,  finding the range of motion in his elbows and shoulders pretty good. His elbows extend from a right angle all the way out, and his swivel shoulders make a full circle. This short legs only bend slightly at the knees & hips, though this is helpful for balance when holding a figure in his flexible robot claws...

It looks as though Joker won't be getting away this time!

Plastic Man stops by to lend a helping hand to Batman (in his Stealth Blast Armor) in loading Proto Bat-Bot's cannon...

Eminently qualified in the field of robotics as he is an android himself, Red Tornado assists with a jam in Proto Bat-Bot's gun bay doors...

...and with the help of his fellow heroes, Batman has Proto Bat-Bot up and running again! Now that's teamwork! The Man of Steel stops in to check progress, shake hands with good friends, and bear witness to Batman's impressive creation...

I can't keep my hands off this wonderful toy- it filled me with such joy that it nearly brought a tear to my eye- I'm talking about real happiness... what I'm trying to say is that I love this toy- I love this toy like a child would. Sorry about a dozen extra large pics in one post, but you can clearly see that the play value is high in this big boy :D

Have a FUN Weekend!

Hey Mr. Postman!

Well. I guess I don't have to tell you what toys my PostMa'am has been bringing me this week... yeah, that's right: more Brave and The Bold! Hooray!!

*Arrow Blast Green Arrow! I love this guy- Green Arrow has become a real favorite for me lately, reading all the JLA stuff  :)

*Kanjar-Ro! EVIL!!

*Sea Spear Aquaman! There is another deluxe Aquaman w/vehicle, but I wanted the original...

*Battle Axe Batman! I know I have several Batman variations from this line, but this one is the original blue and gray... and he has a battle axe. C'mon!!

*Proto Bat-Bot! Towering over the 4 3/4" action figures of this line, this serious chunk of toy is nearly 12" tall and 8" wide. And he lights up and talks, and shoots projectiles- I am entertained! Officially my first real action figure "vehicle" purchased in my adulthood... BITCHIN'!!

MORE LATER- ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND!
