Boss Fight Studio Conan & Red Sonja

 

I purchased these on a whim from Nerdzoic, never having experienced a Boss Fight Studio figure in-hand. While I don't have much in the way of these characters in my collection, none of Red Sonja in fact, I was born in the '70s and do love Masters of the Universe, Dungeons and Dragons, fantasy and the like. These figures are in the same scale/build as a lot of the 5.5" figures of that era, but with upgraded articulation.

Conan's skin is a little shiny, but Boss Fight really captured the Barbarian's look. I like the inclusion of a loop to hold his sword, which has notches and battle scars. His belt appears removable but is pretty tight- I didn't want to have to struggle clasping it back in place, so I left it be.

A little more work is required to get Red Sonja to stand, and her grip on the weapon accessories isn't as sure as with Conan, but she's a beautiful figure. Her scaled armor is fantastic looking, and her painted face deco is superb!

Super 7 Vintage Collection Conan the Barbarian

 

I preordered this 5.5" Vintage Conan back in September- loved the movies as a kid and the figure looks like actor Arnold Schwarzeneggar in toy form. Conan will likely reside mostly near/inside my Funko DC Primal Age Batcave, which now houses my Legends of Dragonore figures. I picked this awesome castle playset up for a song just before the Mattel Origins Castle Grayskull dropped- they were much more expensive to buy the last time I looked. It's a great fit for any 5.5" fantasy action figures, and I've even photographed some of my 8" Mego Horror figures in it.

The metallic Atlantean Sword accessory is fantastic ...!

I could not be happier with this, other than possibly having other characters from Conan's comics/movies. I have yet to commit to any of the Super 7 Ultimates Conan figures, but hope we see a Deluxe release at a lower price point, as with the recent Lion-O. Super 7 did recently announce three Thundercats to be released in this vintage 5.5" format, so that's exciting!
