McFarlane DC Dump

I have quite a few McFarlane DC Multiverse/DC Direct figures I need to bust out, so I thought I'd dump seven of them right here. I buy a lot of mine at Nerdzoic because I like supporting a small family business with great service.

I've loved this Earth 2 Robin design since seeing it years ago; he teamed up with Huntress in a trade paperback I read, Dark Knight Daughter. He comes with an alternate head that looks like Green Lantern's domino mask, but I prefer the full head mask. I am really enjoying the wired cloth capes McFarlane moved to.

I was really excited to see this Huntress solicited; she's the modern version but makes a great partner with my Earth 2 Robin. The interchangeable face plates were a great idea, but I feel a different expression might have added some variety- these are all somewhat neutral. The base helps a great deal keeping the figure upright with her impossibly tiny, heeled feet.

I was slowly piecing this trio of villains together for the last year or so; I was glad to see some classic versions of Gotham City's rouges' gallery. I eagerly await the Two-Face I preordered!

McFarlane packed a lot of extra hands in with Riddler, doesn't get much more classic than this.

This was the McFarlane Joker I was waiting for; it looks like it walked right out of the comics of my youth. Bronze-Age. Included are several extra hands, including holding cards and the laughing fish.

I picked up this Super Powers variant of the McFarlane Collector's Edition Penguin at a discount from an online seller because it's damaged box, but I wanted to open him anyway. His card was damaged, but I don't really take any special care of those anyway.

I will say, I liked the parasol that came with my DC Universe Classics Penguin better...

McFarlane included many sets of extra hands, a radio communicator, and batarang with this Adam West/Classic TV/'66 Batman. Love it! It would have been interesting to see an entire wave or two of '66 Batman figures, but McFarlane was already filling that space with the 6" Classic TV line.

I'm still waiting on my McFarlane '89 Batman, but these two were a big part of my early childhood. I was six when Superman movie dropped, and '66 Batman was in heavy syndication throughout the entirety of my youth, so I was excited to see them.

This figure came with two portraits that bear few obvious differences, though I prefer the version with the tighter spit curl. Chris Reeve is my Superman, so I was really happy to get this figure. Beautiful cape!

This was a fun group of McFarlane DC figures to bust out, I have several more Batman figures I need to post on. While I've had my gripes about McFarlane figures, including their pinchy joints, ball-jointed wrists and ankles, and inconsistent scale, I was surprised to hear they lost the license back to Mattel! I thought of it as a successful line and I'm sure I'll pick up a few more on the way out this next year.

Imaginext Batman Exo Suits & Bat-Tech Bat Signal Multipack

I couldn't make up my mind on which color of the Imaginext Batman Exo Suits I wanted, but a deep discount on Amazon convinced me to get both. The price on the Bat Signal Multipack was also heavily slashed, so I can finally illuminate some of my DC Imaginext figures. Check out the video:

There's a ton of play value in these Exo Suits- the clip-on figure Bat Glider, cuffs to restrain villains, interchangeable missiles, and of course, lights and sound. This makes a great substitute for some of the larger, more expensive playsets Imaginext produces, and the substantial discount from Amazon made it even better. Recommended!

Featured among a few other comparisons in my video above are my Imaginext XL Batman figures which I love! The Deluxe Bat-Tech XL is my favorite for his translucent parts, lights, and sound!

My Mattel Batman Unlimited Bat-Mech seemed like an obvious comparisons with these Imaginext Exo Suits- it also holds a tiny, armored Batman from the Unlimited Mighty Mini line! Too much fun!

The Bat-Tech Bat Signal Multipack was an inexpensive solution to lighting up my translucent Imaginext figures- this play feature has been a design trend through the Imaginext DC Super Heroes line for awhile now, it's fun.

Among a few of the other Imaginext figures in the video above, are that modern, armored Batman, Black Bat-Tech Batman, and Bronze-Age Batman from my last post, Apokolips Armor Batman and Batwing, and the blue/gray Batman from the Riddler 2-pk.

Mego 8in. Penguin

I'd been waiting to get a deal on this newer 2021 Mego Penguin, and finally landed him for under $2.50 shipped using Amazon points, so it wasn't going to get better than that. But decided to upgrade him with accessories from World's Greatest Superheroes on eBay for about the cost of $19.00, negating my once-in-a-lifetime deal on the figure. In my opinion, it was worth it- check out the video:

Below, 8" Mego Penguin with my 6" Mattel Batman Unlimited Series Super Friends Penguin, whose umbrella came with a heavy artillery attachment! Like the original 8" Mego Penguin from '74, these two versions exemplify the classic Bronze-Age Penguin all of us know and love.

I picked up two, vac-metal pistols while enjoying a consolidated shipping charge for accessories from the vendor, one with the BANG banner for Joker. Penguin, Joker, and Riddler are certainly the Mego figures I had in mind when I picked up the Bratz Rock Angelz Cruiser! And the NECA Street Scene Diorama is a great fit for 8" Mego figures, in my opinion...

Uh oh! Looks like Batman will have to rescue the Boy Wonder
from Penguin and his dastardly partners in crime, Joker and Riddler!

My Figures Toy Company Mego Batmobile replica is considerably smaller than the Bratz Cruiser, but the toyetic Mego Charm of it is undeniable, and the newer Mego figures fit nicely in the seats. They sell a red and blue version of the Meg Batmobile reissue, which is quite tempting! This George Barris Batmobile design really stuck with the sixties TV show in heavy syndication throughout the '70s and beyond. Visit the Mego Museum online to see look back into Mego's successful run with the World's Greatest Superheroes in the '70s and keep up with what's new since their triumphant return in 2018!

BootLego Joker Catwoman & Penguin

Yes, more BootLego minifigs, two of these character designs based on the Lego Batman series! If the Penguin, Joker, and Catwoman aren't the Trinity of Batman's gallery of Rogues, they certainly are contenders!

Catwoman's removable cowl reveals two unique expressions, which when combined with her utility belt piece and whip accessory make her a wonderful minifig...

This BootLego Penguin with a lavender hat differs from the character portrayed in Lego Batman, more classic and vaguely '66 Batman. I love the short legs and "white-gloved" hands...

This is the best Joker minifig I have- love the wild hair, extensive torso detail, dual expression! The dynamite accessory is perfect for this agent of anarchy. There is another version with coat and tails, but I favor the exposed vest and sleeves on this one...
