Hey Mr. Postman: BootLego Robin

Yes I already had a Bootlego Robin, but this one looks like the Boy Wonder from the DC Super Heroes Lego movies, his look an homage to the Tim Drake character. I've only slowed a little in buying these Asian bootlegs on eBay- they're so cheap that it's hard to say no!

BootLego Robin came with handcuffs so he can be bound
to my other hooded Bootlego Robin ...!

Hey, Mr. Postman! BootLego Arrow & Arsenal!

And what landed in the Super-DuperToyBox mailbox AGAIN this week? Why yes, more BootLego minifigures from Asia! Produced by manufacturers like Dargo Block World and LEBQ, most ship at reasonable prices, or free, and so cheap it's hard to believe anyone could make any money. I like that I don't have bulky sets or vehicles in order to get the minifigures, which I have little use for...

I haven't seen the Arrow TV show, but am a fan of the Oliver Queen character of DC Comics! Check out a Green Arrow grouping shot from my collection in my April 2014 post on the 10" JLU Green Arrow!

Hey! CHINA POSTMAN! Flash, Batman & Superman Minifigures

I've been buying these Lego knock-off minifigures on eBay for CHEAP- it's hard to believe anyone could make any money after shipping them from China, but I'm having fun...

Flash with the Gorilla Grodd from my last post...

The Man of Steel with Darkseid from my last post...

Last but not least, the Dark Knight himself in all-black deco, a look inspired by 1989's Batman. I'm particularly attached to this modern reinterpretation of the character, played by actor Michael Keaton- it hit theaters at just the right moment in my teens when my fandom was at an elevated level, and I've never really gotten over it...

Not quite the "Trinity" of DC Comics, but a fun trio nonetheless- these are all tops!

Hey, Mr. Postman: Bandai Ultraman 5.5in. Vinyls

I loved these Bandai Ultraman vinyls found online, remembering watching reruns of the Japanese sci-fi show as a kid in the '70s! These figures are made of soft vinyl, and simple in their articulation, limited to swivels in the waist and shoulders. What they lack in articulation, they more than make up for in charm. I've been collecting some vinyl figures lately, mostly Funko, but found these irresistable. The eBay seller was selling all kinds of Ultraman vinyls for pretty cheap with free shipping- I gravitated toward these two because of their familiarity. Check out my video....

BBTS DC Collectibles Haul 2014

I used to publish HEY! Mr. Postman! posts on here a little more often, but wasn't getting as many toy parcels in recent months-that is until the end of 2014, when I purchased several Hot Toys figures and Batman collectibles at a somewhat fevered pace. I'd been working on my new site, the Super Fun Hot Wheels Blog since June, which has kept me very busy, in addition to my assorted musical & creative projects, and the day gig as well. This was a special parcel in that I'd never ordered a box of loot from the Big Bad Toy Store, accumulating pre-orders over the course of several months to ship when fulfilled in one large haul. I'd have to say that it was an overall fun experience, though it took longer for the pre-orders to come in than I was seeing at retail. The items were tidily packed, and arrived in good condition...

I'm still a fan of this scale of action figure, and DC Direct makes some of the most interesting. While I've yet to read the Court of Owls series, I did follow the Zero Year story line, featuring Capullo's artwork- pretty great. I also followed Earth 2 for some time, but eventually lost enthusiasm- like the the Future's End series, it drug on to long for me. I bought the Supergirl because I thought she'd go well with the Earth 2 Superman, and Red Robin because I thought he'd complete a nice trio with the Capullo Batman & Nightwing- cool outfit!

Hey, Mr. Postman!

What could be more fun than toys in the mail? Not much, Friends, not much. I received a package from the lovely & talented Miss M- fellow toy blogger, voice actress/podcast personality, and fan fiction writer! Miss M apparently has a solid understanding of what I like, and sent some fun stuff! Correct, advise, or otherwise extrapolate on my rundown of what was in this box...

Hasbro Marvel Legends Ultimate Iron Man:
A 6" Iron Man I didn't have, with spiffy vac-metal red chest harness and removable helmet- also my only with the latter design feature. Rad! I haven't read Ultimate Iron Man, but I do like variant treatments of popular characters.

Toybiz Marvel Legends Cyclops and 5" ToyBiz Cyclops, Sabretooth, & Wolverine:
I am a big fan of the X-Men as well as ToyBiz action figures! Sabretooth's mouth opens & hands swing out when his legs are squeezed together, and Wolverine has retractable claws- these are the perfect play features for the characters!

ToyBiz Marvel Legends First Appearance Spider-Man:
I'm a HUGE Spider-Man fan since childhood, and love this Steve Ditko inspired version of Ol' Webhead. The old ToyBiz Legends figures had great articulation, this one with individually articulated fingers. This is what a great Spider-Man action figure looks like, People....

ToyBiz 5" Marvel Super Heroes Punisher, 4" Mattel DC Infinite Crisis Boomerang, and 4" Justice League Unlimited Hawkgirl:
I was fascinated by the Punisher since youth, and like this original comic version, white go-go boots and all! Miss M packed a couple DC characters in the box, the Infinite Crisis I had none of and  Boomerang the first I've ever inspected in person- he has some great detail for such a tiny figure. I love JLU figures, and am particularly fond of Hawkgirl in general. I'd probably fall head over heels for the girl if I joined the Justice League... Heroic Hottie!

And last but not least, this very detailed ToyBiz base from the Wave V Legends Colossus.  I'm pretty sure it's sculpted to emulate Sentinel wreckage, which should come in handy! Uncanny detail... !

Thanks for all the fun toys, Miss M! They look pretty happy here in the Super-DuperToyBox, don't they... ?  :)

Mail-In MiniMates

Sure, I've received MiniMates by mail before, and though I've pretty much stopped doing "Hey Mr. Postman" posts here on the Super-DuperToyBox, these are the first loose MiniMates I've bought. I've been eyeing Gamora online for awhile, her 2-pack partner modern Nova's desirability too high for me to tolerate the inflated second market price they fetch together. I really wanted her anyway. And while Angela and AU Iron Man came in a nice box set, I was most interested in these two, unfamiliar with the whole Age of Ultron saga that concluded recently. Iron Man and Guardians of the Galaxy have become favorite monthly Marvel NOW! titles I've enjoyed in the last year, the latter of which all three of these characters have appeared.

This appears to be the Annihilation Conquest Gamora, my most recent exposures to the Most Dangerous Woman in the Universe. Her risque dress was toned down with the Marvel NOW! relaunch of Guardians, perhaps due to the marketing the multitude of toys sure to follow the forthcoming feature film. I love girls in green for whatever reason, and Gamora has become a favorite, like Polaris and She-Hulk. The ear rings attached to the hair piece are sassy, and she has a great cape and sword!

Angela has even more flash than her partner in cosmic battle, gold wings protruding from her orange locks and sculpted belt, tassels flowing from her rear sword sheath. Greatness!  Originally a Spawn character created by Neil Gaiman and Todd McFarlane, the warrior angel recently moved into the Guardians of the Galaxy after the Age of Ultron event, where I was introduced to her. She's rad!

I have some lady MiniMates I really love, but these two sure make a great pair!

I picked up the Marvel Universe AU Iron Man last fall, who seems to have become the peg warmer of that wave, but he's a character I can't seem to collect enough action figures of. He just lends himself easily to a wide array of variants, being an armored hero.

The pegs have been saturated with Iron Man figures for years, but this version is special for his unusual color scheme. He's surely not everyone's cup of tea, but I'm somewhat fascinated by him. He's got a stock MM buck, but the dark, metallic silver on his body gives him dimension, and the odd choice of gold face mask is unexpected. I'm not surprised I like the light blue on black, being such a fan of the third Blue Beetle.

AU Iron Man didn't come with a base, but I thought this blue one looked cool, don't you?
