More Imaginext DC Super Friends!

I found a bunch of these 2021 carded Imaginext DC Super Friends figures at 1/2 price at Walmart, and though I've tripled(?) the number of Imaginext Batmen in my collection in the span of a couple weeks, I found another I needed. Like my Scarecrow 2-pk  Batman and my Bat Signal Multi-Pack Batman, this blue Batman has a translucent chest that can be lit from behind,

This Imaginext Batman is special because he looks like my Imaginext XL Defender Blue Batman:

This Mr. Freeze looks a little different that the others I've seen recently-
he reminds me a lot of the 6" Power Attack Ice Blast Mr. Freeze I used to have ...!

This is a cheery Batgirl!

Catwoman from my Bat Signal Multi Pack would make a good sparring partner!

I had a Flash in a 3-pk vehicle set with Green Lanter and Hawkman many years ago,
but this Flash is a little more dynamic in his color and sculpt..

The blind bag Superboy Prime I got recently doesn't have a translucent torso unfortunately,
but he pairs well with this Supergirl- their colors are quite complementary!

The sculpt on this Black Adam is really special, made more so by his black/gold deco- Wow!

But before you go, I also found this oddball/old stock  Batman/Man-Bat 2-pk as well.
They also have translucent torsos to light from behind...

It's crazy I had just found the new blind bag Man-Bat with the different deco...

And another Batman that is very much like the new blind bag Batman I just found ...!

I prefer the blind bag Batman more (left, but this light-up version has it's own appeal...

And just like that, I have an Imaginext collection again! I'll be on the lookout for any new/interesting DC Imaginext in the future- minifigs like these are fun to photograph!

Mego Justice League Shazam & Black Adam

I actually got these new Meg Justice League Shazam and Black Adam figures free back in September 2022, using my Amazon Chase Card points earned to preorder them in July. A far better deal than the overly expensive Topps Exclusives that were available for only a week online. All's well that ends well- check out the video:

Above, Mego Justice League Shazam and Black Adam with the McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Rebirth Shazam and Endless Winter Black Adam from my last post. The McFarlane Shazam and Black Adam are more modern in their design and sculpt, but stay true in spirit to the original character designs that the Mego figures honor.

Above, Justice League Shazam with my new Mego 50th Anniversary Edition Shazam, both of which are also pictured below with my 8" Mattel Retro-Action Shazam, 4" Spin Master Shazam, 6" DC Universe Classics Shazam, and new 14" Mego Shazam...

My only real gripe with these is the unfortunate angle of the boots, which necessitates a forward-leaning pose to get the figures to stand upright. Otherwise delightful, modern Mego figures, mine are currently on a flight stand to combat this engineering oversight. There are 3rd party Mego accessories available that may not have this issue, or it may be possible to gently reshape using heat to rectify the situation. Leave a suggestion in the comments if you have modified either of these figures' boots! Visit the online Mego Museum to see what's new since the triumphant 2018 return of Mego Corp, and reminisce about its halcyon days in the '70s!

McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Rebirth Shazam & Endless Winter Black Adam

I found this McFarlane Toys Gold Label Shazam at a local Walmart back in October, then hunting down the Endless Winter series Black Adam on eBay to pair him with. Their bodies are identical, the chest bolt/cape and heads the only difference aside from color. Both came with cards, Black Adam featuring photography of the toy, while Shazam's card has a character illustration.

I thought finding this Gold Label Shazam would be hard, but I saw several at retail on more than one occasion. While top heavy from this large cape, he's a wonderful version of the character. The same lightning accessories that came with Black Adam were included, as well as additional outstretched/flight hands.

The Endless Winter set was nice that came with a cool Frost King build-a-figure, but I can't buy every wave of all the figures I like. This figure seemed to be a standard Black Adam figure, so I had to have him to pair with Shazam- I saved at least five or six bucks buying him loose on the secondary market. His lightning accessories are a little different in color and rigidity than Shazam's. This is the fourth or so Black Adam released recently by McFarlane, ramping up the hype surrounding the recent Black Adam movie I've yet to see.

I am loving this pair and seriously considering picking up a McFarlane Toys movie Black Adam figure and the forthcoming Fury of the Gods Shazam, which both look fantastic. I've enjoyed both characters mostly within a couple of DC's Crisis books, but I am interested in seeing some of the movies. Shazam caught my eye as a child in the '70s, when the character was the lead of a Filmation live action TV show on Saturday mornings for three seasons. Shazam evokes early memories of superheroes for me!
