Batman the Animated Happy Meal Premiums (1993)

These Batman the Animated Happy Meal premiums from '93 were a random antique mall find for under eight bucks, the complete set pictured below in a recent eBay listing:

I've seen that Poison Ivy Plant Car and remember the Riddler maybe, but I like this cheap little assortment I found. Robin and the panther accessory bring some color, and Batman and Catwoman have a clean, uniform look.

I'm not crazy about the head sculpt on this Batman, but I like his classic presentation in gray and black with yellow oval chest insignia.

My initial thought regarding Catwoman's panther accessory was "I wonder where else was this included", but the collar matching its master's belt made it seem more like a matching part than a parts reuse from another line. Her green eyes and red lipstick are crisp!

Catwoman and Batman have screws in back; the Caped Crusader's covered by a removable cape. They both have shoulder and waist swivels, but Batman has the added neck articulation. A great pair!

Now this Robin on his wind-up cycle was a treat- zips around in an uncontrollable fashion that made any video shot on my modest table underwhelming compared to its remarkable pull. Wild kid! I like that they made the front wheel green, but it's hard to see.

Imaginext Batman Exo Suits & Bat-Tech Bat Signal Multipack

I couldn't make up my mind on which color of the Imaginext Batman Exo Suits I wanted, but a deep discount on Amazon convinced me to get both. The price on the Bat Signal Multipack was also heavily slashed, so I can finally illuminate some of my DC Imaginext figures. Check out the video:

There's a ton of play value in these Exo Suits- the clip-on figure Bat Glider, cuffs to restrain villains, interchangeable missiles, and of course, lights and sound. This makes a great substitute for some of the larger, more expensive playsets Imaginext produces, and the substantial discount from Amazon made it even better. Recommended! 

Featured among a few other comparisons in my video above are my Imaginext XL Batman figures which I love! The Deluxe Bat-Tech XL is my favorite for his translucent parts, lights, and sound!

My Mattel Batman Unlimited Bat-Mech seemed like an obvious comparisons with these Imaginext Exo Suits- it also holds a tiny, armored Batman from the Unlimited Mighty Mini line! Too much fun!

The Bat-Tech Bat Signal Multipack was an inexpensive solution to lighting up my translucent Imaginext figures- this play feature has been a design trend through the Imaginext DC Super Heroes line for awhile now, it's fun.

Among a few of the other Imaginext figures in the video above, are that modern, armored Batman, Black Bat-Tech Batman, and Bronze-Age Batman from my last post, Apokolips Armor Batman and Batwing, and the blue/gray Batman from the Riddler 2-pk.

Figures Toy Co. Batgirl & Catwoman

 I've had this Figures Toy Co. Catwoman on ice for awhile now but decided to open her with the Batgirl I just got. Figures Toy Co. has been making replica Mego figures for a long time- I'm unsure if that came to an end with Mego's reemergence on the scene five years ago, but I have a few in my collection I've acquired from their eBay store. I buy my new Mego figures from ZLC Collectibles, Movie Posters Etc., and Absolutely Retro.

4in. DC Spinmaster Figures

 Though I sold most all my 3.75 - 4" figures just a few short years ago, I'd taken to picking up these 4" Spin Master DC figures while out and about this past December. Though I don't typically pick up figures of this class, meant for younger kids, I do like them and feel they will sell easily enough in an eBay lot down the road.  These remind me of Mattel's Infinite Heroes line from the late 2000s, which lasted about three years or so, and I wonder how far Spin Master will take this line, going into its third year in 2022. The pegs have been While they have no wrist, ankle, or waist articulation, the hinge-swivel joints in the shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees in most the figures make them serviceable enough for posing.

Spin Master included "mystery accessories" with these figures, located in three small lockers withing the left side of the packaging. While a lot of them are somewhat clunky, with no paint apps, the play value of these figures is increased by their inclusion, allowing kids to collect and swap them among their other action figures. Both the standard and gold Superman came with armor, a Kryptonite rock, and laser eyes accessories...

Deathstroke actually came with a couple nice swards in a realistic color,

 pictured below with the 3.75" Funko ReAction Series Deathstroke...

Picked up several Batman figures from this line...

One of the first of these 4" Spin Master figures I picked up was this outstanding 

Batwing figure, pictured below with the Imaginext Batwing I posted about recently...

Was mad for these two Bat Tech Series Batman figures, one is translucent blue plastic:

This black and gun metal/gray Batman, decked out in another figure's accessories, is the more conventional. He reminded me of my Mattel EXP Series Ultimate Defender Batman, pictured with below for comparison...

Man-Bat came with a pair of claws, as did a couple other Batman figures...

I also managed to find four different variations on Robin, a couple hooded, and a couple molded in translucent plastic- one an almost completely red translucent mold. I liked some of the accessories, particularly the gun metal finished

Like the Robins I found, this Nightwing has the Bat Tech lines on his outfit and has a translucent black buck. Spin Master went all-in across its DC toy lines with the Bat Tech branding. For whatever reason, Spinmaster gave Nightwing his signature escrima sticks molded into giant gauntlets, mine in sparkle-translucent blue nonetheless ridiculous.

 on her outfit, and has a translucent black buck:

Catwoman and Harley Quinn were in their standard issue looks, both great little figures...

And last but not least, the Clown Prince of Crime himself. This may be the third or fourth Joker of the series, this one with utility belt and dynamite strapped to his thigh. I like the metallic paint on this version, which came with a fish and chattering teeth, accessories appropriate to the character, even if molded in translucent/sparkly plastic. The left pantleg hiked up over the boot on this mold is a small detail I enjoy on this... glad I found this variant.
