Jcee asked where to find a plexi box like the one encasing my Marvel Select Captain Marvel a couple posts back. They are maufactured by Pioneer, and I buy mine at Hobby Lobby- they can be found in the model kits aisle. While these are made primarily for model cars, it can be turned on it's end and used as a doll case, as portrayed on the packaging. They even include two rubber bumpers to place on the underside of the box to make level when positioned vertically.
I always wait for a coupon to get these- Hobby Lobby has a 40% off any single item coupon on their website at least once a month. A large 15 x 7 x 7" goes for $14.99, but after the coupon it was $8.99. I just got another large one like this for my DC Direct Sinestro, and want to get one for my 1:6 GL Corps as well. I have a glass toys case that has a few of my DC Direct 1:6 dolls, but they really take up a lot of room in there. With these acrylic boxes I can keep them out in the main room of my apartment without fear of them getting dusty, and move them around with ease. I change the toys out once in awhile for fun, and they look really cool in the boxes...
a. 1978 Kenner Darth Vader b. Mattel Retro Action Batman c. DC Direct Deluxe Sinestro d. Marvel Select Captain Marvel (variant)
Genius! I need a few of those. Hobby Lobby here I come.
ReplyDeletethose are GREAT display cases!! i gotta go check out my local Toy Car Model store to see if they carry these :)
ReplyDeleteThanks man! Those really look great!
ReplyDeletetheses are great! must see if i can find something local...postage to italy is really expensive unfortunately...
ReplyDeleteSweet! I have a Hobby Lobby not far from me! I might have to go and pick a couple of these up for my Universal Monsters figures.
ReplyDeleteI've also seen these - or ones very similar - in The Container Store.
ReplyDeleteIt safe space as you can stack on each other right?
ReplyDeleteWell, they are make to stack horizontally (with a car inside- I probably wouldn't stack them vertically unless their backs were butted up against a wall- too tall/not stable enough. ALSO- CHECK THE SIZE OF YOUR TOY to make sure it will fit- there are many sizes.
