Marvel Legends Venom Wave 2 (Venompool BAF)

I hadn't purchased the initial Monster Venom BAF wave from 2018, nor planned on picking up this second Marvel Legends Venom wave, but the Venompool BAF was so good that I couldn't resist. Check out the video:

Below, Venompool with my 2016 X-Men Wave Deadpool!
See the video above more more comparison photos with other figures!

The Venomized concept is a good one, appealing to kids and adults who read comics from the '80s and '90s when this character, and the spinoff character Carnage, came onto the scene. There are some cool figures in this wave, notably the Carnage figure, an upgrade from the 2018 release with more detailed sculpt. The Venomized Captain America was a Walmart exclusive that I had to hunt down after buying the other figures in this wave, sub-branded under the Maximum Venom logo as the Miles Morales and Ghost-Spider figures are. My favorite, however, is the 2018 cinematic Venom; while I prefer venom with his spider chest insignia, I love the proportions of this tall figure, and the interchangeable heads look fantastic. I'm unsure if the creepy toes are screen-accurate, but I like them!

There have been questions regarding the need for some of these figures, but I did like them- their articulation was good, and they make a great group. The outstanding Venompool BAF is why you showed  up, but there's some other fun stuff here. Reccomended!

Marvel Legends Edge of Spider-Verse Spider-Gwen (2015)

On the heels of my last post on the Marvel Legends Edge of Spider-Verse Series Ben Reilly Spider-Man, I though I'd crack this Spider-Gwen I'd been holding onto the last three years. Packed with far less accessories than Ben Reilly, extra hands would have made this better, but I'm okay with the unmasked portrait. And as stated on ItsAllTrue.Net, the character was barely a year old when Hasbro pushed out an action figure due to her sudden upshot in popularity. Pretty impressive.

I won't go on about the action figure community's bemoaning of Marvel Legends female's underperformance in the articulation department, but a better abdominal joint could have made a world of difference for Spider-Gwen. That said, the design looks great, and the paint apps are pretty decent for a mass produced figure like this- the webbing on the inside of the hood and undersides of the arms are admirably executed.

BootLego Marvel Spider-Gwen, Flipside Spidey, Dr. Strange, Greenpool, & Capt. America

More Spider-Verse characters to add to my collection of minifigs! Spider-Gwen and Flipside Spidey are two more unique decos to complement the Spider-Man, Iron Spider, and Ultimate Spider-Man I posted on this past Christmas...

I loved the recent Dr. Strange film, the minifig pictured below styled after actor Benedict Cumberbatch's outfit. The clear spell orb accessories are a nice touch, detailed with hieroglyph...

There are so many variants of BootLego Deadpool out there, several of which are intricately detailed, like this green variant I refer to as Greenpool. He came packed with twin pistols and katanas, the swords sheathed on his backpack. I'm not sure what is supposed to go in the breifcase, but one of his pistols does fit inside, so he can carry everything!

Greenpool's deco is different from my conventional red BootLego Deadpool, perhaps a little more complex...

I loved this white variant Capt. America with the Mighty Micro Captain America, both from the same seller. Both are very different styles of Lego deco, one a more detailed, modern outfit, the other more classic and simple. Quite whimsical together!

The third Capt. America I picked up was in the Marvel All-New All-Different deco with the chevron shield, another variant of the character unusual enough to catch my interest...

Quite the patriotic trio ...!
