ToyBiz Night Shadow Spider-Man Figures and More!

Continuing from my last post on ToyBiz's 10in. Deluxe Human Torch and Thing, a couple 10in. "Night Shadow" Spider-Man variants- one a 1998 Marvel Universe Edition, the other a Spider-Man Animated release from 1994. I've had the latter in my collection for many years now, but decided to open him after recently finding the Marvel Universe Spider-Man with translucent body.

I also recently acquired a ToyBiz 5in. Spider-Man in red and gold...

And when buying the red/gold Spidey, I found this 1996 McDonald's Happy Meal Spider-Man Web Car from another seller. I'm fond of fast food premiums, especially of the superhero genre, and have a few in my collection.

And finally, my ToyBiz Spider-Man figures and Web Car with my 9" Hasbro Origins Spider-Man, Peter Parker "Spidey Sense" Happy Meal premium, 12in. and 8in. Mego Spider-Man, and Imperial Toys Spider-Man finger puppet...

ToyBiz 10in. Human Torch & Thing

It's been some years since I posted any ToyBiz figures here, my favorites being the 10in. Deluxe Marvel Universe line from the 90's, so I pulled out this Human Torch and Thing from my collection to get a closer look at. This particular Human Torch was the translucent release from 2000, and The Thing a 1998 "Civilian Heroes" release with trenchcoat and hat.

I started collecting these "big dumb" action figures almost as soon as I started this blog in 2010 and never lost my love for their bright colors and fantastic packaging. What they lack in articulation, they make up for in toyetic charm!

I've had this magnificent ToyBiz 14in. Galactus in my collection for over a decade, which has lights and sound, but only recently picked up the 5" Silver Surfer. I had a 10" ToyBiz Silver Surfer in my collection before, but this smaller version fits better with the Galactus,..

POTF2 C-3PO Figure Case (1996)

Just a quick post about the Power of the Force 2 C-3PO figure case I picked up some time ago to store the quickly amassing collection of 3.75" Star Wars figures. I sold my Darth Vader figure case some years ago, but my renewed interest in this scale of Star Wars figures demanded a storage solution that this acquisition answered. Kenner produced a handsome vac-metal finished version of this case that demands a higher price, but I liked the lighted eyes and voice feature on this later version. Check out the video below:

Below, my Power of the Force 2 C-3PO Figure Case with my 3.75" Hasbro Retro Collection C-3PO and vintage C-3PO w/removable limbs, and vintage 1978 Kenner 12" C-3PO. I'm as easily an R2-D2 fan, the pair being inseparable, but actor Anthony Daniels gave us such a relatable, human performance with the character of C-3PO.

Warriors of the Galaxy Spikes & Ygg

I was so happy with Formo Toys' 5.5" Legends of Dragonore figures, that I recently scooped up a couple of their Warriors of the Galaxy figures, Spikes and Ygg. While they don't have quite the level of articulation that the recent MOTU Origins figures possess, they do have additional swivel joints at the forearms and boot tops that classic 5.5" figures from the '80s lacked and their parts are interchangeable like the Origins figures. I love playing with these in my Funko Primal Age Batcave!

Formo Toys sent me a cross-sell postcard with the first wave of Warriors of the Galaxy on one side and the second wave of Legends of Dragonore figures on the verso, the latter of which I'm mad for! It includes a Divine Armor build-a-figure. Not sure how much longer I can resist buying those!
