DC Direct 1st Appearance Green Lantern

I've said before in recent years that I'm still a big fan of DC Direct figures, in particular from 2000 to 2013. In the halcyon days of the Super-DuperToyBox, DC Direct was an action figure line that occupied a lot of my posts, and I never really let go of them altogether. So when I saw this DC Direct 1st Appearance Series 2 Green Lantern/Alan Scott from Dec. 2004 on eBay for twenty bucks, I scooped him up. I actually had this figure mint-in-box for several years before selling it along with several other DC Direct 1st Appearance Series figures in 2018 - a decision I mildly regret.

I had in my collection back then! There are a few I wish I still had!

Wired at the bottom, Alan Scott's flowing soft-goods cape was crafted from colorful, luxurious material. There's a bit of paint slop not uncommon on some of the earlier premium action figures, but on the shelf from more typical viewing distance it's not noticeable. The sculpt is classic Golden-Age Green Lantern, created by Matin Nodell in 1940, when Scott battled common criminals on the streets of Capitol City with the aid of his magic ring tied to the force known as the Starheart.
