Funko POP! Archangel

I try to buy as few of these Funko POP! as possible, but occasionally one comes along in a favorite character, and I have to pick it up. Such is the case regarding the new X-Men Series Archangel. I love the '80s design, and was always drawn to the silver wings of this character. Warren Worthington was Angel of the original X-Men, brainwashed by Apocalypse to become the most feared of his Four Horsemen! Check out the video:

Batman v Superman Mighty Minis

Ha to grab a few more of these 2" DC Mighty Minis before they're all gone! I was on the lookout for a Superman & Wonder Woman, and picked up an Aquaman and Batman while I was there...

Aquaman with Batman Unlimited Series 1 Mighty Minis Flash, two of my favorites of these DC Mighty Minis. They both stand well, and have cool designs!

Bandai Gundam Converge- Barbatos & Exia

I spotted a couple more Bandai Gundam Converge figures at TRU recently that interested me. As I said in my last post, the exotic appeal these odd little 2 1/4" figures do the same thing for me as the Power Rangers/Super Sentai and Sofubi vinyl- I'm a fan of vinyl figures, particularly of Japanese import. Though articulation is  limited to the shoulders, wrists and neck, the accessories on these two are great, their weapons swapped by pegging interchangable hands.

Bandai Gundam Converge- Char's Zaku II

I found this odd, little 2 1/4" Gundam Converge at TRU a couple weeks ago, and as I'm a fan of vinyl figures, particularly of Japanese import, I thought I'd take a chance on him. He has some limited articulation in the shoulders and neck, merely plugged into the torso, and a removable bazooka. The eye moves side to side under his removable helmet as well, a nice touch. He stands okay with his bazooka down, but requires the included base with the weapon extended.

I know nothing of the anime Mobile Suit Gundam that populate the Universal Century metaverse, but I do admire the exotic appeal of this vinyl minifigure. For the same reasons I own Power Rangers/Super Sentai and Sofubi vinyl, these Gundam Converge interest me, and the detail in the sculpt is great. Fun!

Below, the Gundam Converge with the Mighty Minis Batman Beyond from my last post- I like these two together, a pairing I would have happily teamed up as a kid!

Batman Unlimited Series 1 Mighty Minis

I couldn't resist some more of these DC Mighty Minis! Perhaps it's the challenge of photographing these impossibly tiny 2" figures. I like their sculpt and stance, and they'll be fun to pose with other toys!

Mighty Minis Green Arrow:

Aside from Green Arrow being unarmed, I'm glad I went back for these- I'm particulary fond of the Batman Beyond's semi-translucent plastic. At $2.99, I paid less that the first few Mighty Minis I purchased- perhaps still a questionable value, but improved.

Mega Bloks TMNT Out of the Shadows

This blog has remained bereft of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles until now, not for my lack of appreciation for the franchise, but rather for the fact that I was past toys and cartoons by the time the characters from Eastman and Laird's underground comic drew mainstream attention. And while I already have a handful of Mega Bloks minifigures, it's the first time I've posted about them on this blog.

The articulation and details on these tiny figures are impressive for their size! I'm a fan of minifigs generally speaking (Imaginext, Lego, MiniMates, Be@rbrick), but the Mega Bloks minifigs have their own charm. Hot Wheels, also owned by Mattel, released some Mega Blocks car builds with minifigures that I love and has since released several "ride-on" series castings made to accommodate the Mega Block figures as well. Below, Raphael and a Halo Mega Bloks figure with the Hot Wheels Tanknator, and the TMNT Foot Soldiers take a ride on the Fig Rig with a Hot Wheels Mega Bloks Driver:

I really enjoyed these, my favorite perhaps Casey Jones with his hockey gear, and may go back for Mikey Leo and Donnie! Collecting TMNT in miniature form may be the best way for me!

Hot Wheels Marvel Daredevil

I've been posting more on the Super Fun Hot Wheels Blog lately, which when combined with my vaious other hobbies and activity has probably taken some attention away from the Super-DuperToyBox in the last couple years. There's always more I want to share with you, but for now check out this killer Hot Wheels Daredevil car! Check out the video and my post on the Super Fun Hot Wheels Blog:
